A Natural Inspiration
My yard has many varieties of trees. There are the more common ones like Magnolias, Cedars, Oaks, and Pines. And then there is a very large Fig, a lone White Oleander and the focus of this post, a forest of bamboo. I've noticed a lot of things made from bamboo lately...curtain rods, furniture, even clothing (when made into a pulp the fibers can be turned into cloth).
Which brings me to my latest creative endeavor, bamboo jewelry. I've just started experimenting, but here is the first piece.
This bracelet is natural bamboo (not stained or painted) with two little white flowers on each segment. I am going to try using stains and painting entire pieces to form patterns. Tell me what you think of the idea and if you'd like to suggest patterns, designs, colors, please feel free!
